CHILDREN & YOUTH

At LUMC, we are charged to have active and engaging children’s and youth ministries. We pursue this through the use of faithful teachers, a current curriculum, technologically-enabled learning, and a safe and secure environment. , We believe that helping children grow in their knowledge of and relationship with Jesus Christ and their service to Him is crucial. All staff and volunteers have state-required child safety clearances, and we follow Safe Sanctuary child protection policies.

Jesus called for them and said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not stop them; for it is to such as these that the kingdom of God belongs.”

-Luke 18:16

What Programs Do We Offer?

Nursery: 6 weeks - 3 years

Our nursery is staffed with professional, caring adults who provide a safe and secure environment. When you are confident in leaving your baby in the care of our staff, then you are able to worship with a sense of security. We have taken great care to prepare our nursery rooms to be the best environment for your baby with age-appropriate toys and an opportunity to interact with others. We pray for them to receive all that God has for them in life. We believe every child we pray for will be touched by God.

PALS Sunday School Class - Age 3.5 to First Grade

During both services, your child will be in the care of trained volunteers, all of whom meet required background checks. Our goal is to encourage preschoolers in a growing, loving relationship with Jesus Christ and others in an atmosphere where they feel a sense of belonging. We present biblical learning materials with a hands-on approach to help establish faith toward God and His Word.

FRIENDS Sunday School Class - Grades 2 to 6

Our children’s service is fully staffed with adults who are committed to teaching and ministering to children. You can be confident that your child is well-cared for and having a great time learning about God while you worship.

Youth Sunday School:

Grades 7 - 12

The Youth Sunday School program is full with a variety of opportunities to grow and serve in Christ. Every Sunday morning at 9:00 AM, during Sunday School, the Youth will learn from adults who are committed to supporting the their individual journey and their relationship with Jesus.

Seventh through twelfth-grade youth meet with the rest of the church family for contemporary worship at 10:30 AM. Youth Group students meet at the front of the sanctuary to sit together during service. Our vision for the students is that they realize how incredibly important they are to our church family and that they become involved in some of our many missions through worship and serving using the gifts God has given them!

Youth Sunday School classes will also have the opportunity to volunteer  helping with younger Sunday School classes and events.

Iron Sharpens Iron: Lititz UMC Youth Group

Jesus Christ is at the center of it all, and our goal is to point others toward Him. Youth Group at Lititz United Methodist Church is a place for you to belong, believe, and become exactly whom God created you to be!

At Lititz UMC, we strive to keep a four-cornered, balanced approach to youth ministry, incorporating fun, worship, spiritual growth, and service.

Our Youth Group ministry is offered to all students in grades 7 through 12. We have weekly gatherings and monthly fellowship outings which include spiritual retreat weekends, mission projects, Bible study, movie nights, community and social events, and more. Our goal is for each youth to develop a close and deeply personal relationship with God, to be actively involved in the community, and to have a fantastic time along the way! It is our desire to raise up courageous, unashamed, and passionate young leaders: inspiring them to continuously grow in their relationship with God, reach out to their friends, and live for a cause greater than themselves.

Our Youth Group meets during school months on Sunday evenings from 6:00 to 8:00 PM in the Youth Room, located in the lower level of our church. The glass access doors are around the side of the church across from the pavilion. Additional special events and activities occur monthly during the year as well as during summer break.

There are three small groups within our Youth Group. These small groups have special events of their own!
