Open Door Clothing Bank

Open to local community members in need of new and like-new clothing.

“I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, I was naked and you gave me clothing, I was sick and you took care of me, I was in prison and you visited me.”

-Matthew 25:35-36

Clothing Bank in Lititz, PA

The Open Door Clothing Bank is an outreach ministry of the Lititz United Methodist Church. The clothing bank is a store-like setting offering new and like-new clothing at no cost to anyone who needs clothing. Need is defined as anyone who cannot afford to purchase clothing or finds it a financial strain to clothe their families. This can be a temporary need to meet a period of unemployment, budget strain (such as the winter heating season, unexpected bills, high medical costs), or to meet someone’s need in crisis due to loss by fire, or abusive situations. Low or fixed income families are also served. The clothing bank is open to everyone: in our church, in our community, and in surrounding communities.

Hours of Operation

Tuesdays from 9 AM to 11 AM

Wednesdays from 6 PM to 8 PM

COLLECTION INFORMATION

We continually accept new and like-new clothing throughout the week by placing donations in the bins located by the elevator on each floor of our church or by using the outside clothing bin located near the door to the store, across from the pavilion—an easy drop-off. We ask you to give of your first fruits—even if it’s just clothing! We thank you for your help in making this an excellent outreach!

ITEMS WE ACCEPT

  • New or like-new, clean, ready-to-wear clothing (for easy sorting and to reduce recycling costs)
  • Maternity clothing and uniforms (Boy Scout, Girl Scout, work, school, etc.)
  • Hats, coats, boots, and shoes (new or like-new, ready to wear)
  • Purses and backpacks in new or good condition
  • We especially need all sizes of children’s clothing, as they go quickly

ITEMS WE CANNOT ACCEPT

  • No clothing that is torn, stained, pilled, oily, or paint-splattered
